About Perm City
Perm is the administrative centre of Perm Krai, Russia. The city is located on the bank of the Kama river in the European part of Russia near the Ural Mountains. Perm is famous as the port on the Kama river, a large industrial, scientific, cultural, and logistic center of the Urals. The population of Perm city is about 1036000, the area 800 sq. km. Perm city has a wonderful connection with the Kama river, is the main tributary of the Volga river and is also one of the deepest and most beautiful rivers of Russia. During the 19th Century, Perm became a major trade and industrial center of Russia, having a population of almost 20,000 people. The city had many metallurgy, paper, and steamboat producing factories, including one factory owned by a British entrepreneur. In 1870, the first opera theatre was opened in the Perm city.
Perm State Medical University offers a healthy and multicultural environment. All the basic facilities are provided to students studying MBBS and other courses at University. The PSMU has won Moscow Mayor’s prize for the best campus in the area. The University is also a proud winner of the title “Best student hostel” at the all Russia contest held among all the Russian medical Universities . The campus of the University is spread over the area of 50 hectare of land near a large park and consists of 27 buildings, sports and medical faculties, hostel and shops 12 comfortable hostels have cosy rooms and well-occupied kitchens.

Perm State Medical University is ranked among the top medical Universities in the world . Perm State Medical University offers many graduates, under graduates and post graduates programs like MBBS, MD etc to local as well as international students.
The University staff currently involves 12 faculties and each faculty has several programs for Bachelors and Master. There are a total of 80 departments, including 2 classes of pedagogy and physical training. These departments are not only responsible for theoretical education but also for the postgraduate studies and research work of the staff.
The hostels have their own kitchens, laundry rooms for study and training sessions, recreation rooms, gym etc. The complete hostel complex is equipped with internet access. Perm State Medical University aims at providing maximum comfort to the students. The hostel rooms are designed such that 2-3 students can share one room. The rooms are equipped with air-conditioning and a centralized heating system, the location of the hostels is very near to the centre of the city. The local markets and other amenities are easily accessible to the students. The hostel rooms are well equipped with all necessary equipment like TV, internet service, air conditioning etc, laundromats, dry cleaner, ateliers and beauty salons, Campus is protected with well Controlled security system.
Every student has the opportunity to take part in any sport activities. If a student is not interested in outdoor activities, there is a sports hall in the grounds of the University. Students can play basketball, volleyball, and badminton, or enjoy aerobics, athletics, or martial arts training. All activities are led by professionals, and sports competitions take place year round in the University.
